Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the accounting activities of the Northeast Division including the month-end close process, month end analysis, creating, entering, and analyzing transactional activities. This position will work with all levels of management and must have strong verbal and written communication skills. We are a growing and as such this individual must be open to change. This role will be challenged to seek, propose, and drive process improvements across its areas of responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the month-end close process
  • Prepare monthly GL/sub-ledger reconciliations and monthly analytics (flux analysis)
  • Support office managers in their accounting duties, learn their role and serve as a backup
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, trend analysis and other schedules for timely month-end close
  • Assist in the year-end financial audit (E&Y)
  • Assist with creation and monitoring of system controls and procedures; assist with preparing and documenting internal controls
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure accounting policies and procedures are accurate, current and adhered to for area of responsibility
  • Assist with process improvement activities
  • Support group deliverables for management and compliance reporting requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Northeast Controller
  • Travel required up to 25% of time

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP
  • Complete understanding of the accounting process
  • Working knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls, including AR, AP, fixed assets, inventory, revenue recognition, and general accounting.
  • CPA a plus
  • Public accounting experience a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Excel
  • Must possess proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written format
  • Must have a strong understanding of consolidations including eliminations
  • Experience with NetSuite
