Procurement Manager ( IT/Telecom)

The Business Unit Category Manager (BUCM) for IT and Telecom will be required to proactively liaise with local Business Unit, Finance Leadership, Audit, Compliance, and Internal Risk Mgmt. Build strong internal relationships, and support clients and requisitioners. Support and internal cleints in meeting their respecitve project goals by assisting in the requirements gathering for key project planning and specifications. i.e. RFx's, Statements of Work (SoW's), Contract Amendments etc., and provide recommendations where and when required. Have the ability to manage strategic commercial relationships with vendors, Stipulate quality and service level agreements with suppliers, and ensure adequate measurement/response. Define and monitor value contribution and savings objectives are being met. Champion local procurement related requirements as well as promote and drive procurement value add. This position will be required to collaborate closely and act as the strategic interface to all end users, key stakeholders, and suppliers for related procurement activities. Provide best total value, while ensuring efficiency and compliance for IT and Telecom for one or more of the following Sourcing Categories of third party spend: SC-01 Information Technology and SC-09 Telecommunications, both locally and regionally.

Qualifications

Required:
5-7 years of procurement experience within the IT and Telecom commodity, with strong underlying knowledge of Application Development, Outsourcing, Infrastructure (H/W and S/W) and Telecommunications (Fixed lines and Mobility)
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts or equivalent work experience
Proficient in contract terminology and ability to work directly with the Legal department to develop alternative clauses where necessary, and mitigate risk to the company
Ability to develop and execute procurement plans to achieve financial targets
Expertise on compliance requirements and financial risk management
Very good understanding of procurement processes and demonstrated competency using procurement tool i.e. ARIBA, SAP MM
Expert knowledge of applicable spend categories (supplier markets, sourcing strategies)
Ability to develop and execute plans and to provide strategic direction to the development and achievement of financial targets
Understanding of accounting, finance and budgeting concepts
Expert knowledge in the use of MS products i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to conduct necessary RFP's RFI's and RFQ's where and when needed coupled with excellent interpersonal and social skills and strong presentation skills. Excellent negotiation, oral and written communication skills. Experience in leading cross-functional projects
Willingness to travel (approximately 10% of time)

Advanced degree a plus
Reinsurance and/or primary insurance experience a plus
