SUMMARY:
Determine best technical solutions and support to satisfy functional and business requirements. Define requirements for installing and improving related systems and determine appropriate timing for implementation of system modifications or upgrades. Document systems design, create specification, flow charts, and other related diagrams based on user or system design specifications. Analyze data and desired end results to develop testing and conversion plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • (20%) Define requirements for installing and improving related systems; determining appropriate timing for implementation of system modifications or upgrades in conjunction with the end-user community; examine existing systems to assess, analyze and prepare detailed specifications for installation and/or improved systems or enhancements; interview users to determine their requirements (i.e., how current system works, changes needed, etc.); research and select new technologies and recommendations to Chief Information Technology Officer regarding new technologies to purchase.
  • (20%) Document systems design, create specification, flow charts, and other related diagrams based on user or system design specifications.
  • (20%) Analyze data and desired end results to develop testing and conversion plans.
  • (15%) Create programs and code; test them to validate functionality and desired programming results; determine level of user training needed and choice of training materials
  • (10%) Present system design recommendations for how system performs and looks to meet users' requirements, enhancements to existing systems, and new systems to SPS staff and end users to ensure functionality and agreed upon outcome; prepare written or visual documentation and conduct or participate in design review sessions.
  • (10%) Supervise staff installing programs and preparing transfer documentation; consult with Client staff to ensure smooth installation; assign programs for coding to staff and review results.
  • (5%) Attend meetings with departmental staff and/or other Client staff and serve as resource expert; develop long- and short-term project plans to ensure project is on schedule and completed in a timely manner. Comply with departmental administrative requirements and submit progress reports to management and departments.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5+ years' experience. Requires an individual with proven OLTP, Data Warehousing and Reporting skills. Position will be responsible for creating, maintaining, modifying and tuning SQL and PL/SQL code. Includes query writing, data loading, data cleansing and ETL. Individual will also be responsible for Data Modeling, business and statistical data analysis, implementation of database design principals in creating and writing all DDL in support of management defined projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Advanced Skills In: Oracle 12c; DDL; PL/SQL; SQL; Database Level Security; Toad/Toad Data Modeler (or similar tool)
  • Strong Skills In: ETL; IBM Datastage; Data Modeling; Schema Creation; SQL Tuning; Materialized Views; Triggers; Constraints; TDE Data Encryption
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive test plans
  • Results oriented individual that follows a detail-oriented methodical approach
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Self-Starter that possesses ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently yet function effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to interact with business users and executive management and translate business requirements into technical implementations
PREFERED EXPERIENCE:
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Salesforce, DestinyOne a plus.
  • Knowledge/familiarity with integration between various Higher Education systems a plus.
