Title: Senior MarkLogic Data Modeler/Architect

The candidate's responsibilities will be to design/architect new applications/platforms in Marklogic using all capabilities of the product for better performance/maintainability compared to any RDBMS applications.

Regulatory Change Management
The Firm does business in many jurisdictions and need to abide by rules and regulations in all countries. Whenever there is any rule change anywhere, it needs to identify impact to their policies, procedures, controls and other systems. The Firm is working to create new application that will house all rules/regulations/obligations from all jurisdictions and then maintain links across other end points. They want to use power to Client to create map to identify direct impact, indirect impact, scenario analysis, etc

Control Assessments
The Firm has more than 100K controls that they manage and assess on regular basis. Controls are categories based on many-many different reference data e.g. Organization, Location, Legal Entity, Process, Risks, etc. The Firm wants to create new library that houses this information and feed external control assessment modules (e.g. Internal Audit, Compliance, SOX, etc). It will then provide unified view to regulators, internal management about Control, its past assessments and design/operating effectiveness.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties will include:
  • Understand application requirements (current and future) and design Client data model to satisfy needs
  • Understands use of Client triple store and Semantics and use in applications
  • Write Client queries and pipeline to be integrated with Application Middle tier
  • Designing and developing code, scripts and data pipelines that leverage structured and unstructured data integrated from multiple sources Installing and configuring MarkLogic software
  • Based on business requirements, able to define and tune the search relevancy
  • Be able to integrate various Client instances (different applications) to provide consolidated view of data
  • Provide assistant in integrating with tools that allow Natural Language Processing

Skill, Experience & General information required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years experience delivering software implementation projects within a professional services organization
  • Thorough knowledge of one or more programming languages
  • Working familiarity with multiple programming tools and development environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong desire and ability to learn quickly and acquire new skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical
Basic Technical Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working with content/knowledge management systems, search engines, relational databases, NoSQL databases, ETL tools, geospatial systems, semantic technology, or enterprise software solutions.
  • Direct experience with commonly accepted industry architectures/technologies including J2EE, XML, XSLT, SOA/Web Services, SQL, HTML, HTTP, Javascript, REST
  • Hands-on experience with XML and related technologies (XSLT and/or XQuery)
  • Familiar with competing products like Google Search, Client IDOL, IBM SOLR, etc.
