Finance IT Business Analyst CNB Integration Regulatory Reporting

We are looking to staff a business analyst for support of the firm's integration due to a merger as it impacts Regulatory Reporting (Bank Holding Company, CCAR, etc.).

Generally speaking, the business analyst's responsibilities will include analyzing and documenting all Finance requirements for project or modifications to existing system/process, liaise with IT developers to communicate those requirements, plan/coordinate all user testing, coordinate implementation/migration as necessary and communicate to project leadership team and/or senior management on project status throughout the project lifecycle.

BA candidates should have representative experience in the following areas:
  • Developing requirements specifically for reporting solutions which require an high-level of experience with data-centric initiatives
  • Developing Business Intelligence types of reports
  • Integration initiatives and on-boarding of systems and data including migrations from existing platforms to new systems
  • Conducting in-depth data analysis across various vendor and customized systems including non-automated data sets
  • Constructing end-to-end data flow models
  • Ability to interpret complex reporting requirements and break down into lowest-level components either generically or relative to specific (data) systems including the identification of data (sources), business rules and final reporting
  • Ability to elicit requirements and business rules for a variety of stakeholders and applying the appropriate elicitation techniques given the stakeholders and situations
  • Extensive documentation experience across a broad range of documents BRD, FRD, Data Dictionaries, System/Process Flows, etc.
  • Providing subject matter expertise related to technical Regulatory Reporting program knowledge, implementation, testing and certification
  • Effectively communicating, written and verbal to a wide-range of audiences comfortable with presenting complex concepts
  • Developing current-state/future-state and gap analysis; in the cases of data, relating changes to existing IT systems and/or interfaces where appropriate
  • Developing a modeling and reconciliation approach to validate all data against the golden source of financial data (GL)
  • Liaising with external software vendor / IT developers to communicate data sourcing requirements and current/future state architecture
  • Formulating project plans (where appropriate) including requirements gathering, testing and implementation
  • Supporting the UAT with users and migration to production
  • Contributing to process re-engineering and process improvement where applicable
  • Supporting user's training and documentation as needed

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data sourcing, systems implementation, process improvements or systems re-engineering projects with a banking organization or consulting company with background in Regulatory or Financial Reporting.

Specific experience includes:
  • Prior positions at US or foreign banking organization (commercial bank or broker dealer), Bank Holding Company (preferred)
  • In depth understanding of Regulatory Reporting requirements (in particular FR Y-9C/LP, FFIEC009, FR Y-11/S, FR Y-15 and FFIEC031)
  • Managing the planning, documenting, testing, and executing, along with tasks, budgets, timelines, and project team members to successfully complete projects
  • Capital Markets - preferred with focus on sub ledger middle to back office data flows
  • General Ledger - required (PeopleSoft, Oracle Suite, SAP, etc.)
  • Process mapping / process flows / process modeling required
  • Re-engineering - good to have
  • Business Analysis - required
  • Data analysis and modeling required; must have worked with and/or developed logical data models or similar structured data
  • Prior work with reporting and modeling tools good to have (QRM, Axiom, Reg-Reporter, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality product (low re-work/errors)
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and present it to stakeholders in a straightforward and clear manner
  • Self-starter with the ability to break down assignments and follow through
  • Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills
