Hi,
I'd like you to take a look at a great new position we now have available! Your opinion would be valued with regards to this opening. I really appreciate sending an updated resume & the best number with the best time to reach you.
Role: Sr. Snowflake Developer
Location: Wilmington, DE
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions on the Snowflake Data Cloud, contributing across the full development lifecycle from ingestion to consumption.
  • Build and manage Snowflake objects including databases, schemas, tables, views, stages, file formats, warehouses, and automation constructs like streams and tasks.
  • Implement ingestion and continuous data pipelines using Snowflake-native capabilities such as Snowpipe and related ingestion patterns.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL transformations and ELT logic; troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and improve efficiency through compute and query optimization techniques.
  • Contribute to data modeling and validation, including dimensional patterns (where applicable) and validation/reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Architects to deliver end-to-end solutions and participate in design and code reviews.

Behavioral and Teaming Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with distributed teams in a global setting; actively participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, reviews, retrospectives) and deliver iterative value.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders on technical design choices, progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Act as a senior hands-on contributor with ownership mindset: debugging, incident triage, production support readiness, and continuous improvement.

Core Areas of Expertise (Snowflake)
Snowflake Development (Core)
  • Strong hands-on development on Snowflake: creating and managing tables, views, schemas, stages, file formats, and virtual warehouses.
  • Experience with pipeline automation using streams and tasks, and ingestion patterns using Snowpipe.
  • Strong understanding of Snowflake environment management and operational practices (warehouse sizing, workload handling).
SQL Development & Performance Optimization
  • Advanced SQL development: writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • Performance optimization techniques, including compute/resource optimization and query tuning.
Data Modeling & Quality
  • Data modeling capabilities (conceptual/logical/physical as needed for warehouse/lakehouse) and dimensional modeling principles.
  • Data quality practices: profiling, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring.
Security & Access Control
  • Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and follow data security best practices within Snowflake.

Technology Skills (Must Have)
  • Snowflake (strong hands-on) including object development and automation (streams/tasks) and ingestion patterns (Snowpipe).
  • Advanced SQL (development + tuning).
  • Experience integrating Snowflake with one or more ETL/ELT tools (examples commonly used include dbt and cloud ETL tools).
  • Scripting/Programming exposure helpful (Python often appears alongside Snowflake roles; internal profile snippets also show Snowflake+Python usage in project contexts).

Good to Have / Preferred
  • Experience in at least one of: cloud ETL/ELT platforms (e.g., dbt, Informatica Cloud, Matillion, ADF, AWS Glue) used to ingest/transform data into Snowflake.
  • Exposure to regulated domains (e.g., Financial Services) is commonly preferred in internal JDs and staffing asks.
  • Knowledge of production support, troubleshooting and deployment practices (build/release familiarity).

Functional Relevance of Work Experience
  • Proven experience delivering Snowflake-based solutions in enterprise data warehouse / modern data platform programs, including migration/modernization scenarios. (recommended expectation; internal staffing context indicates Snowflake dev roles for programs)
  • Strong collaboration with data engineering and analytics stakeholders to ensure correctness, performance, and governance adherence.

Experience Tenure
  • 9–12+ years overall IT experience
  • 4–6+ years of strong hands-on experience in Snowflake development (or equivalent cloud data warehouse development)
  • Demonstrated ability to own complex data deliverables end-to-end (design → build → test → deploy → support)
