Contract Role
Experience: 15+ years
Domain: Banking and Capital Markets domain.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to spearhead large-scale, high-stakes technology transformations in the Banking and Capital Markets domain. This role requires a hands-on leader with 15+ years of expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud-native modernization, and AI-driven innovations, delivering measurable outcomes in regulated environments like core banking, payments ecosystems, trading platforms, risk analytics, and securities processing. You will drive end-to-end program execution, bridging C-suite vision with technical delivery to accelerate digital agility, compliance, and revenue growth in a fast-evolving capital markets landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership & Delivery: Orchestrate multi-year, multi-million-dollar programs in capital markets IT, including trading system integrations, payments modernization (e.g., ISO 20022, SWIFT), and digital channel enhancements, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery aligned with business KPIs and regulatory mandates.
- Enterprise Architecture & Solution Design: Architect scalable, resilient solutions for core banking, lending, treasury, and capital markets platforms, incorporating microservices, event-driven architectures, and hybrid cloud models to support high-volume, low-latency transactions.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory: Partner with C-level executives, trading desks, risk officers, and global cross-functional teams to co-create program roadmaps, define success metrics, and influence strategic decisions on technology investments.
- AI/ML & Innovation Leadership: Champion AI/ML deployments for real-time applications such as fraud detection, AML/KYC automation, predictive risk modelling, and algorithmic trading, while embedding ethical AI principles to mitigate biases in capital markets data.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Modernization: Direct cloud migration strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP) for capital markets workloads, including containerization (Kubernetes), API gateways, and zero-trust security to enable seamless integration with market data feeds and legacy core systems.
- Team & Talent Development: Assemble and mentor diverse, global teams of architects, developers, and analysts in agile/matrix environments, promoting DevSecOps practices, knowledge sharing, and innovation to foster high-performance delivery.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance: Implement enterprise-wide frameworks for data governance, cybersecurity (e.g., SOC 2, PCI-DSS), and regulatory adherence (e.g., SEC reporting, Basel III), including audit-ready MLOps pipelines and third-party risk assessments.
Key Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive IT leadership in Banking and Capital Markets, with hands-on experience in program management, solution architecture, and digital transformation at tier-1 institutions or consultancies.
- Deep domain expertise in Capital Markets (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives trading) and Banking functions like Core Banking Systems (CBS), Real-Time Payments, Credit Risk, Trade Surveillance, and Treasury Management.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices orchestration, RESTful APIs, event streaming (Kafka), and integration patterns (e.g., ESB, MuleSoft) for high-throughput financial applications.
- Track record of leading AI/ML initiatives in BFSI, including generative AI for compliance workflows, anomaly detection in trading data, and scalable MLOps for model governance.
- Strong command of regulatory landscapes (e.g., Client, OCC guidelines) and data privacy standards (e.g., CCPA, GDPR), with experience navigating audits and ethical AI deployments.
- Proven ability to lead global, matrixed teams (50+ members) in agile/DevOps frameworks, delivering complex programs with P&L accountability.
- Exceptional communication and influence skills, with a history of advising on vendor selections (e.g., Temenos, FIS, Calypso) and technology partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP/PgMP, TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Solutions Architect, SAFe Agilist, or CISM for risk-focused roles.
- Prior experience interfacing with regulatory bodies (e.g., SEC, Client) or leading transformations at bulge-bracket banks/investment firms.
- Familiarity with capital markets-specific tools like Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or Murex for solution prototyping.
