Title: Business Analyst – Cloud Modernization (Banking & Payments)
Location: Troy, Michigan - Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business and technical requirements for cloud migration and modernization of banking and payment platforms.
  • Analyze current-state processes, identify pain points, and define to-be workflows leveraging cloud-native capabilities.
  • Translate business needs into functional and non-functional specifications for cloud-based solutions.
  • Process Mapping & Solution Design
  • Create detailed process flows, business models, and user stories for payment and banking operations.
  • Support the design of integration points between legacy systems and new cloud platforms, ensuring seamless transition and minimal business disruption.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
  • Ensure all solutions comply with relevant banking regulations (e.g., AML, GDPR, PCI DSS) and payment standards (e.g., ISO 20022, SWIFT, SEPA, RTGS).
  • Prepare documentation and support audits as required.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a liaison between business, IT, and third-party vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct workshops, demos, and walkthroughs with stakeholders to validate requirements and solutions.
  • Testing & Implementation Support
  • Develop test cases, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validate that cloud-based solutions meet business expectations and regulatory standards.
  • Track and resolve issues identified during testing and post-implementation.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and change logs.
  • Work closely with PO in the Discovery workshops to define outcomes
  • Identify Pain Points and Gap Analysis
  • Create RFP Document & Evaluation Criteria
  • Manage RFP process with vendors
  • Prepare Vendor Comparison Scorecard
  • Final Recommendation & Roadmap
  • Provide regular updates to project leadership on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience:
  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst in banking, payments, or financial services, with at least 2 years on cloud migration or modernization projects.
  • Hands-on experience with payment systems (e.g., ISO 20022, SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, RTGS) and real-time/instant payments.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of cloud concepts (e.g., SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and modern cloud architectures.
  • Proficiency in process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, UML), requirements management, and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Familiarity with data migration, integration patterns, and cloud-native services.
  • Analytical & Communication Skills:
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large-scale core banking or payment system transformations.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices in cloud environments.
  • Certifications in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
