Piscataway,NJ As a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) specializing in the Retirement domain 401K, with in-depth knowledge of Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) plans, this role combines domain expertise with technical fluency to deliver high-quality system solutions. The BSA takes full ownership of requirements and collaborates across disciplines to ensure timely and accurate delivery of business value. ⸻ Domain & Technical Expertise • Deep understanding of retirement plan structures, rules, calculations, and administration processes for both DB and DC products. • Working knowledge of batch job processing, including scheduling, dependencies, and error handling. • Strong understanding of API integrations (REST/SOAP), data contracts, and how APIs interact across services. • Hands-on knowledge of multi-tier application architecture – including UI, services/middleware, backend, and databases. • Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries to validate data, analyze root causes, and support requirement analysis. Requirements Analysis & Ownership • Collaborate with business users, product owners, and SMEs to gather and analyze business requirements. • Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and detailed user stories in JIRA, including well-defined acceptance criteria. • Own the full lifecycle of requirements – from documentation to development support and post-deployment validation. • Create process maps, data flows, and system diagrams using Microsoft Visio and similar tools to visualize current and future state designs. Cross-functional Collaboration & Delivery • Partner with developers, QA engineers, scrum masters, and architects to ensure shared understanding and correct implementation. • Lead and facilitate JIRA backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirement walkthrough sessions. • Collaborate closely with QA teams to ensure adequate test coverage and support UAT and production validation. • Maintain traceability of requirements and ensure alignment with release scope and project milestones. Quality & Risk Management • Enforce consistency, clarity, and completeness in requirement documents and JIRA tickets. • Proactively identify and communicate technical or functional risks, dependencies, and constraints. • Monitor development progress and support issue triaging using tools like JIRA dashboards and reports. • Maintain change control and ensure all requirement changes are documented and communicated appropriately. Agility, Communication & Stakeholder Management • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment and realistic expectations. • Proficient in negotiating requirements, prioritizing features based on impact, feasibility, and timeline. • Provide daily updates, risk visibility, and milestone tracking to project leadership. • A self-driven, outcome-oriented professional who keeps delivery goals in focus and thrives in dynamic environments. | ||||
