 A SRE Lead is ultimately responsible for system reliability, developer productivity and reducing time to market by striving to reduce technical debt of the services your SRE team supports. We seek managers who are passionate about system reliability to influence and drive the strategic SRE mission. 
  • Engage, influence, and evangelize SRE practices with development, operational and product groups to align technology service/solution delivery for new acquisitions and marketing domain.
  • Drive quality accountability within the space with well-defined processes, metrics, and goals for process quality. This includes, working closely with L3 Support to lead effective postmortems, RCA and ensuring actions are followed-up.
  • Manage availability, latency, scalability and efficiency within Apply development by instilling engineering reliability into our development life cycle with a focus on fault tolerant approaches.
  • Maintain a full and comprehensive view of all lower environments and lead efforts to keep them consistent and as closely aligned as possible with production
  • Drive capacity planning, performance analysis, instrumentation and other non-functional systems requirements.
  • Must be able to define and report status on strategic initiates and project level tasks to all stakeholders including senior executives, clients and use effective communication approaches with each constituency.
  • Implement metrics driven processes to ensure service quality targets are met.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Expert knowledge in all aspects of designing, developing, managing large real-time systems.
  • Prior successful experience as a systems performance or site/systems reliability engineer.
  • Mastery of Linux/Unix as well expert level knowledge in Java, Spring framework and cloud technologies.
  • Mastery of fault tolerant approaches in a large-scale distributed environment and high-performance systems.
  • Ability to quickly get to the root cause of a problem and suggest a simple fix in a major incident scenario.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies at the core/internals levels in order to act competently in Subject Matter Expert role
  • Articulate and establish best practices and anti-patterns in application of technologies in question
  • Partner with Lead Engineers, Architects and broadly colleagues within O&T community to coordinate strategies and technology investment recommendations
  • Develop and communicate technology choices and core patterns in their application
  • Conduct briefings for leadership at all levels and colleagues as appropriate
  • Establish, maintain and enhance relationships with open-source and commercial vendors, consultants/SIs and other relevant 3rd parties
Required Skill Set:
  • Graduate / Post graduate degree in Computer Science, or related fields
  • Experience 12+ years with primarily Engineering and Application Development roles in financial institutions or retail cards domain or technology companies
  • Proven IT experience; deep understanding and implementation of IT business strategies
  • Dynamic leader of software reliability engineering focused on design, development and delivery of robust and high performing client facing platforms, micro services, API gateways and enterprise technology platforms that help realize business objectives
  • Expertise in Enterprise application architecture, Micro services, Full stack web development, Database design and modelling, Big Data engineering and Cloud deployments and architecture
  • Proven digital transformation experience: relevant, size, scale, scope, maturity of organisation
  • Strong background in defining product strategy and leading technical and functional architecture to successful development and rollout
  • Extensive leadership experience; demonstrable track record of motivational and achievement-oriented leadership
  • Strong expertise in vendor resource management
  • Strong Project management, Senior Mgmt Stakeholder management skills at the MD/D levels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and ability to facilitate cross-functional cooperation across senior stakeholders
  • Operates with High energy, hands-on as needed and results & goal-oriented approach.
  • Well organized with excellent time management, able to work in a pressurized environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Financial or Cards industry relevant background (10+ years guideline)
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience in design and build complex enterprise systems and platforms
  • Experience of designing and building platforms in public cloud (AWS)
  • Experience in the areas of machine learning and analytics
