Job Description Change & Release Manager

Working with Development and Deployment teams for scoping, prioritization, and scheduling of changes to pre-productionand production environments

Planning and executing major and minor releases, tracking and communicating progress and issues/risks to teamleadership
Managing risk that may affect scope, schedule, or production stability
Conduct Release Readiness, Milestone, and Release Retrospectives
Working with Change Management to ensure development teams complete required release and change deliverables
Working with development teams to ensure SDLC deliverables are completed
Supporting deployments over-night and on weekends (if needed)
Facilitating transition of release contents into Production Support teams Coordinating with other Project Managers,internal and external Stakeholders

5-7+ years' experience in a Release Management role
ITIL Foundations certification
Intermediate JIRA/Confluence
Strong analytical skills used to identify and resolve problems.
Enterprise, application and cloud infrastructure design experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Leadership experience, collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff.
Financial experience a plus.
Strong leadership experience, ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities, effective management ofresources and strong communication skills.

Location Charlotte, NC
Interview Process 1 internal and 1 client.

The candidate will have to perform change, release and environment management functions.
  • Planning release windows and the overall release lifecycle
  • Managing risks that may affect release scope
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements
  • Measure and monitor progress
  • Manage relationships and coordinate projects between different teams
  • Coordinate Change implementation with agreed Testing Analysts to validate the desired outcome and confirm availability of service.
  • Build and test the approved Changes. Implement and review the tested Changes according to the approved Change Work Plan and agreed Change Window.
  • Participate in the CAB as required to represent the Change. Train the Service Management Functions regarding the Release.
  • Escalate to request the approval to proceed in the event that a deviation to the plan or Change window is required.
  • Ensure record is updated following deployment confirming all steps (pre-implementation, implementation and testing) were completed as per the Change Work Plan
  • Accurately update the record with the results of the deployment based on the business requirements.
  • Approve the Build. Review and approve the Test Plan, Remediation plan, and implementation plan.
  • Review the test results and approve the Test executed in the Controlled environment. Participate in the CAB as required to represent the Change and provide technical guidance so it can make informed decisions.
  • Review the Release in the live environment post implementation. Review the technical plan with peer for accuracy, completeness and ability for the deployment to meet the business requirement.
  • Perform Impact Analysis on the Change schedule, resources, service, business and environment.
  • Must be competent in team working, providing excellent customer service, making good decisions, bringing innovation to problem solving and mentoring other team members.
  • Strong communication skills are required for interfacing with developers, system administrators and management.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills are required to report on status, clearly define requirements, provide presentations/training materials and create clear and concise documentation
