Senior Oracle Developer
We are seeking a Senior Oracle Developer to work on the projects focusing on the development of PIMCO's Sales Data Management systems, a key platform delivering detailed Funds reporting and Analysis. The candidate should demonstrate an advanced level of understanding of Oracle database, general systems concepts/computer science fundamentals and their application to solve business problems.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop sales and fund data management and reporting systems using Oracle SQL scripts and PL/SQL stored procedures, functions and triggers
- Design database entities, conduct performance tuning of Oracle database and objects
- Work with large data and devise plans to conduct in-place updates and table rebuilds as necessary
- Design and implement ETL processes
- Lead the projects, working with project manager, technical leads, business owners to understand the requirements and develop the application according to the specifications
- Mentor other team members and lead them through the projects
- Drive the process for integrating new feeds and enhancements to the system
- Understand and support existing systems, including resolving operational issues
- Troubleshoot problems, whether due to data or software, and work to rapidly implement fixes
Position Requirements
- Extensive experience with Oracle 11g or higher Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
- Demonstrate advanced expertise in designing and developing solutions in Oracle database
- Hands-on programming experience in Oracle PL/SQL (functions, procedures, triggers and other database objects) and Ad Hoc Query Reports
- Expert level of experience in tuning Oracle database and database objects for performance while working with large dataset
- Highly skilled in designing and implementing ETL frameworks, preferably using Informatica.
- Experience in big data technologies, HDFS, HIVE and Spark is a plus
- Experience in gathering and translating system requirements into applications.
- Experience documenting business requirements and processes, defining business functions, defining entities and attributes, normalizing and creating Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), and defining business units.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 10 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the financial industry is a plus.
