Lead Software Engineer

At Track.com we are looking for someone who is passionate about software and creating the very best consumer application with an exceptional user experience that is built to be performant and scalable.
The ideal candidate will be current in their understanding of modern application development, scalable web applications, and has a proven history of leading engineering teams.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, the incumbent would build and lead software teams with the to develop and grow the Track.com product. You would be involved in selecting the development methodology, software stack and team members, as well as, setting the technical direction of the team.

To be successful in this position, you must be a full stack engineer who has a proven record of architecting and defining solution architecture and leading other development team members. Being a team player and effective communicator with a thirst for mentoring other more junior team members is a much have for this role. Experience using modern development practices (specifically agile) is critical, so that the teams can be built using these principles. You will build-out a modern web architecture to enable us to more quickly ship new features into production at scale. We are currently a small team and our successes come from strong collaboration, an open mindset, and a good work ethic, which are critical in the early stages of a project to define requirements and set expectations for our product.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science degree preferred but not required)
  • 3-5 years of professional development experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading software engineering and development teams
  • 2+ years of back-end development experience e.g. Node.JS, Python, Golang, Java
  • 2+ years of front-end development experience e.g. Javascript, Angular
  • 5+ years building, delivering, and supporting high-quality, performant web applications for both the front and backend.
  • Expert level knowledge of HTML/CSS (all kinds) and JavaScript
  • Pixel perfect attention to detail with an eye for user experience
  • Familiarity with AWS and building large scalable web experience
  • Good written and verbal communicator
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
