  • Cost Optimization : Identify and implement strategies to reduce cloud spend without sacrificing performance, such as rightsizing resources and managing commitment plans (e.g., Savings Plans or Reserved Instances).
  • Visibility & Reporting : Create and maintain dashboards to provide transparency into cloud usage and spending across different business units.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting : Collaborate with finance to establish cloud budgets and develop predictive models for future spending based on consumption trends.
  • Governance & Policy : Enforce tagging standards and financial governance policies to ensure accurate cost allocation and accountability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Cloud Proficiency : Hands-on experience with major providers like Azure (a common focus for NYL) or AWS.
  • Analytical Tools : Mastery of data visualization and analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI or Tableau).
  • FinOps Knowledge : Familiarity with the FinOps Foundation framework and certifications like FinOps Certified Practitioner is highly preferred.
  • Collaborative Mindset : Ability to translate technical cloud metrics into actionable financial insights for senior leadership.
