Platform / Infrastructure Engineer (Middleware, Linux, Certificates, Automation)
Charlotte, NC Type: Contract Interview: Technical + Architecture + Troubleshooting rounds Role Summary We are seeking a Platform / Infrastructure Engineer with strong experience in API onboarding, file transfer systems, server configuration, certificate management, Linux troubleshooting, SSO migrations, and automation scripting. The engineer will support enterprise platforms, coordinate with multiple infrastructure teams, and ensure smooth deployment, integration, and operational stability of mission‐critical applications. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Services & Integrations • Configure and support APIs in APIGEE. • Set up file transfer mechanisms including NDM, SFTP, service accounts, and node configurations. • Configure and manage S3 tenants, access policies, and integration mechanisms. • Set up and troubleshoot AVI/VIP load balancers, including DR switchovers. Server & Middleware Configuration • Work with platform engineering teams to provision and configure web servers, load balancers, Tomcat, and application servers. • Understand internal server handshakes, connectivity flows, and platform dependencies. • Troubleshoot performance issues, memory leaks, and automate restart procedures. Certificate & Authentication Management • Manage Venafi certificates, SSH keys, and authentication protocols. • Troubleshoot certificate failures, handshake issues, and secure connectivity. Linux & Automation • Perform Linux/Unix troubleshooting, filesystem analysis, mount point validation, and node‐level diagnostics. • Create and maintain shell scripts for automation, deployments, and operational tasks. • Troubleshoot client tools such as Oracle Client, ODBC, Java Client, Autosys, NDM, etc. Identity & Access Migration • Support user migrations from AD‐ENT to Azure AD, including Ping, OAuth2, and MFA. • Understand SSO philosophies and authentication flows. Advanced Automation • Develop advanced shell scripting for automation, archival, and purging procedures. • Build reusable automation frameworks to reduce manual operational tasks. Required Skills & Experience • 6–10 years in Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or Middleware Support. • Strong hands‐on experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, and automation. • Experience with APIGEE, NDM/SFTP, S3, load balancers, and VIP configurations. • Strong understanding of certificates, SSH, Venafi, and authentication protocols. • Experience with Azure AD, SSO, OAuth2, Ping, MFA. • Ability to troubleshoot complex platform issues across multiple layers. • Experience working with platform engineering, networking, and security teams. | ||||
