Linux/Unix Application Support Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Responsible for supporting a suite of enterprise risk reporting applications used internally. Support includes incident, problem, and change management in the production environment and supporting ongoing development and testing environments. The tools you will be supporting form the core of Risk Management Strategy and are critical to the success of a number of highly visible strategic and regulatory programs. You will be part of a global support team working in a dynamic environment where you'll have an opportunity to make a significant impact and work with a broad range of the latest technologies. Primary Responsibilities: Respond to alerts or incidents, diagnose, and resolve any service disruptions. Manage escalations and coordinate support across required shared services; Ability to deal with time sensitive issues in support of critical service level commitments ; Perform root cause analysis and follow up on any production impacts ; Complete production readiness reviews for new releases and validate the supportability of changes prior to introduction into production ; Create and maintain support documentation and procedures ; Maintain effective relationships across infrastructure, development, and other shared services teams Qualifications: ; Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. ; 3-5 years of experience in supporting mission critical applications ; Excellent communication skills ; Linux / Unix command line and shell scripting ; Basic Oracle and/or Vertica database and SQL experience ; ETL experience a plus
