SUMMARY
Works with the IT Infrastructure Manager and other Administrators to engineer, implement, maintain and support the information technology server and network infrastructure at Amy's Kitchen. Administers and maintains servers, services, and associated rights. Keeps services in full working order, as directed by the IT Infrastructure Manager. Implements and maintains various other software, hardware and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

Participates in the day-to-day administration and engineering of Amy's systems and network infrastructure. Proactively ensures connectivity to servers and services and verifies that they are in optimal condition. Monitors and maintains system and security logs. Tests, and deploys all applicable updates.
  • Assists IT Infrastructure Manager in researching, developing, and piloting new server technologies and security strategies.
  • Maintains and supports technical infrastructure hardware and system software components.
  • Configures, debugs and maintains configurations for s multiple infrastructure platforms.
  • Creates and maintains scripts that automate routine system administration tasks.
  • Participates in root cause analysis for service interruption problem management.
  • Creates and maintains run-books for all aspects of job duties. Documents administration change history of hardware and software systems according to policy. Follows relevant documented procedures and policies during the course of performing all duties.
  • Depending on requirements of the tasks at hand, works both independently and jointly with other Administrators to accomplish duties assigned.
  • Keeps informed on present and new technologies and related issues via various channels such as trade publications, peer groups, mailing lists, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Manager.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but acts in a lead capacity to other department staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school degree is required.
  • A college degree is desired; preferably in a computer-related, math or engineering related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience is required.

SKILLS
  • To perform this job successfully an individual must possess considerable knowledge of multiple network operating systems, tools and software utilities, hardware, and best practices.
  • At least seven years of experience as a systems administrator in a multi-site network with increasing levels of responsibility. At least 1 year performing as the "team lead” in a department with multiple system administrators is desired.
  • In depth experience with Microsoft's Active Directory, and knowledge of Samba/CIFS and/or other networked file systems.
  • Expert-level Windows Server 2008, 2012, or 2016 knowledge, with an appropriate level of Microsoft certification. Hands-on but less senior-level Linux experience highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of OKTA or similar SSO software, and federation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Infoblox or similar DNS management software is desirable.
  • Knowledge of protocols such as HTTP, FTP, POP3, SMTP, IMAP, LDAP, and SSH. In-depth knowledge of SNMP and TCP/IP.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco networking product configurations and command-line administration, routed networks and best practice implementations; includes troubleshooting network issues.
  • Working knowledge of at least one scripting language; general comfort with programming scripts is desirable.
  • The ability to capture and analyze network traffic.
  • Some exposure to and functional understanding of IT automation t tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible) and "DevOps” techniques.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Fluent in English with the bility to effectively communicate technical information and concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to distill and summarize offerings from technology vendors for presentation to other Senior System Administrators, and IT Infrastructure Manager.
