Rackspace pioneered the Docs Like Code movement that transformed the way companies create and deliver documentation. Our open-source Deconst toolchain enables documentation to be developed in any GitHub code repository using the same software development tools and Agile methodologies, then be automatically assembled and published continuously to a global audience.
Primary responsibility:
Rackspace seeks an experienced software engineer with a DevOps mindset to complete the transformation of our legacy documentation tools onto a modern cloud orchestration platform. You will architect and implement code for the continuous integration and delivery of Deconst in OpenShift - which enables the CI/CD of Rackspace documentation. After the focus on stability and security in OpenShift, there is an opportunity to add innovative  features and capabilities in Deconst that have a broad impact.
You must be a self-starter that consistently takes initiative and manages your own work to
completion. You have successfully automated and orchestrated multiple workloads on at least one
public cloud provider. You are able to collaborate across teams to make informed software
architecture decisions. You write code that satisfies project and business requirements. You follow
TDD (or similar) and Agile methodologies. You explain highly technical scenarios and systems to
less-technical colleagues with success.
An ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years professional experience in software development.
  • A technical certification in a public cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
