System/Software QA Engineer

Location: Orlando, Florida
CPI has an immediate opening for a System/Software QA Engineer for our defense client's Orlando, FL facility. This assignment is a U.S. Government Contract. Due to the work performed within our client's facility, U.S. Citizenship is required.
 
Looking for a Systems Quality person or a Systems/Software Engineer who is interested in moving to System Quality. System Quality is involved in most areas of the system lifecycle, so a candidate should have experience in many of the following areas: 
  • Technical review of documents, drawings, instructions and plans
  • Review and monitor issues/defects
  • Conduct audits (including preparation for ISO9001 and/or CMMI)
  • Monitor/witness software/system testing
  • Participate in programmatic reviews (Test Readiness Review, Deployment Readiness Review, Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews, System Requirement Reviews)
  • Participate in process improvement

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Secret Security Clearance is REQUIRED prior to hire. All applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
 
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficient knowledge of domain (hardware, software, systems, logistics, manufacturing) methodologies, tools, and standards
  • Proficient knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, ISO 14001ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient skill in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
  • Proficient ability to clearly report relevant to sound quality engineering processes
  • Ability to sell concepts and ideas
  • Proficient knowledge of interpretation of drawings
  • Proficient skill in reviewing documents/drawings/instructions for conformance to requirements techniques
  • Proficient skill in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally.
  • Proficient knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques
