The Platform Feature Engineer will lead the development of the requirements and definition of the Service Level Agreements (SLA) to support assigned features as needed. The candidate will function within Feature Platform team and interface with a variety of external organizations including Vehicle Operations, EESE, regional Wireless Carrier(s), IT Applications Development (AD), IT Applications Management (AM) and IT Plant Support teams as required to deliver specific features.
 
Position Duties:
  • Work closely with component owners to write functional specifications for Supplier Feed process of specific ECU's and provisioning of Telematics control Units (TCU), Enterprise Plug In Device (ePID), Enterprise wired in device (eWID), FNV2 provisioning modules.
  • Establishment and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assigned features.
  • Create/Review Design Verification Plan to validate assigned features Issue change requests when necessary and lead the CR’s process from initiation through approval and implementation.
  • Lead overall end to end management of issue resolution at time of system integration.
  • Provide onsite support of pre-production builds at manufacturing plants.
  • Maintain open requirements issue list, review, track and report on progress.
  • Triage of feature specific issues during the development and launch phases of the project.
  • Daily monitoring, tracking and issue resolution of vehicles that fail the provision process for assigned assembly plants.
  • Lead development of quality deliverables (DFMEA, PFMEA, SCCAF, etc).
  • Work with multiple cross functional teams to ensure robust implementation of feature and all quality deliverable.
Skills Required:
  • 3+ years Systems Engineering background or Equivalent.
  • Familiar with Vehicle Manufacturing and Assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of Netcom processes and tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, ValueCAN, DET).
  • Familiar with the design and release process for infotainment systems including hardware, software, communication protocols and architecture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status of specific features. 
Experience Required:
  • Quality disciplines (FMA processes).
  • Onsite support of pre-production builds at manufacturing plants.
  • The position may require travel as necessary to support launch related activities globally.
  • Working knowledge of embedded operating systems, embedded software architecture and vehicle electrical architectures.
  • Manage individual workload and deliver to established project milestones.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in team environment and help resolve issues.
Experience Preferred:
  • Telematics connected vehicle and Cellular / Wireless Technology experience (Preferred).
  • Self-motivating individual with a desire to complete assigned projects.
Education Required:
  • The candidate is required to hold a Bachelor Of Science in Engineering or Equivalent IT Degree (Masters preferred).
