IT Project Manager (Agile/Scrum)

CPI is hiring an experienced IT Project Manager on a contract to possible hire basis to be responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provide a single point of contact for those projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains accountability for projects from original concept through final implementation.
  • Makes sure the project is delivered within budget, on schedule, and within scope.
  • Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services and client services to provide a single point of contact for respective project.
  • Defines project scope and objectives, including identifying and determining project outcomes, critical success pathways and appropriate parameters.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports to layout the progression and scope of the project.
  • Communicates all aspects of the project: status, schedule, risks, issues, escalations, decisions, to all stakeholders and levels of organization as appropriate.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Provides project reports, these reports will include at minimum; status reporting, risk management and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables to decrease instances of scope creep.
  • Establishes and achieves financial objectives by preparing a project budget, scheduling and approving expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
  • May provide direction and guidance to lesser-experienced project management staff to assist them in their role and understanding of more complex project management.
  • Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
  • Clears pathway for project team to ensure they have the appropriate resources to function in their assigned role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Background & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience on progressively responsible and complex projects.
  • Must be skilled in Project Life Cycle Methodologies (scrum, kanban, lean-agile, SAFe)
  • Prior experience leading or directing other IT staff.
  • Has thorough knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field respective to the information systems to enable incumbent to manage highly complex projects.
  • Proven successes defining system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively direct and assign the activities of team members on highly complex and comprehensive projects.
Preferred industry experience: Finance, Healthcare, Higher Education and/or Insurance.
