Jr. Embedded Software Developer 
 
The Embedded Software Programmer will provide technical support for commercial and government contracts. The selected individual will work as part of an engineering team on a variety of challenging projects and activities focused largely on low level embedded software development spanning the entire engineering lifecycle from research to maintenance. This person will also provide support to hardware and verification personnel in support of solution development and production release. Software Engineer should have interest in wireless communications and embedded systems. Successful candidate will research, develop, and integrate wireless communications applications and systems on embedded platforms. Software development roles include the implementation in C++ of communications protocols, analysis and modification of existing implementations, as well as integration and testing on existing and new platforms.
 
 
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

 
The candidate should have a minimum of a B.S. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science (M.S. preferred)
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop firmware for Linux embedded systems
  • Develop code using appropriate languages such as Assembly, C, C++ and Java
  • Interface with multiple teams to design and develop embedded systems
  • Participate in the selection of suitable micro-controller and development tools
 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent with 1-3+ years of experience and related skills in low-level software languages (machine and assembly) and high-level software languages (C/C++, Java)
  • Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git is required to manage the software development
  • Strong documentation and writing skills
  • Currently possess a Top Secret security clearance with the ability to receive a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • In-depth embedded experience with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Debian…)
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python)
  • Familiarity with common test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and frequency analyzers are also desired
