Under the direction of the Supervisor of Admitting Services, the Admitting Representative will be responsible for assisting with patients and families in a prompt and courteous manner. Consistently securing accurate demographic information to create a complete medical record.

Qualifications

Required:

•Basic Life Support, MAB - Mgmt of Assaultive Behavior,Basic Life Support
•At least one year working in registration in a hospital setting or equivalent
•HS diploma or equivalent. Typing 40 WPM, experience working with computers, faxes, multiline phones, copiers, printers and other office machines. When working in Emergency Dept, Mgmt of Assaultive Behavior certification required within 90 days of first assignment in Emergency Dept
•Excellent customer service skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, excellent communication skills, strong team player, medical terminology

Acknowledges co-workers, patients, family members, and visitors in a prompt and courteous manner.
Orchestrates patient flow throughout the Ambulatory Care Center, providing accurate information, direction and assistance to all customers, including patients, family members, and visitors.
Works collaboratively with Ambulatory Care Clinic Managers, Physician Providers (PCC, PSF, and Residents) to ensure patient satisfaction.
Provides reception and information to patients, visitors, and telephone callers in a manner that is ethnically, culturally and financially sensitive.
Looks for every opportunity to direct patients, families, and visitors to ensure their needs are met in a timely manner.
Responds immediately to customer complaints/requests in a timely manner.
