The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer independently performs common and complex cardiac sonography of pediatric patients at CHOC. This individual has an excellent understanding of pediatric physiology and anatomy with knowledge of the related cardiac pathophysiology. This individual independently performs and provides timely input of findings on patients, including neonates, children, and adults with suspected or known congenital heart disease. He/she, under the direction of the Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Service,, maintains a high standard of quality for all procedures performed in the pediatric and congenital settings.
Reporting to 

MINIMUM REQUIRED
•    Graduate of an accredited echocardiography training program
EXPERIENCE  AND SKILLS REQUIRED
•    At least 1 year of experience with cardiac echocardiography
•    3-5 years of pediatric cardiac echocardiography experience
•    Graduate of an accredited echocardiography training program
•    RDCS or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Ped Echocardiography within 6 months of hire
•    Reg Diag Cardiac Sono PE,Basic Life Support,Amer Reg Diag Med Son (ARDMS)
•    A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification is required.
•    Knowledge of and ability to learn and apply complex pediatric and congenital sonography principles, instrumentation and techniques and new techniques for the capture, display and analysis of echocardiograph data.
•    Knowledge of pediatric anatomy and physiology.
•    Problem solving, time management, and organizational skills are required.
•    Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills.
