  1. Someone with good understanding of router, switches, load balancers
  2. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure/application architectures
  3. Someone have prior experience in DR planning related activities (some certifications will be plus)
  4. Person will be working with bunch of technology related SMEs., and get It to the right people
  5. General knowledge of ticketing system (they use remedy)
  6. Need to be discreet as information worked within the program is highly confidential
  7. Someone worked in Multiple-System Operator (MSO) or cable company will be highly beneficial.
  8. Past experience in IT network operations and different layers of software.
  9. Could be contract to permanent (but not guaranteed)
  10. Interview process: phone -> in-person interview
  11. Travel requirement: may be 10% of time or less
  12. Client can accommodate one day remote but not too much (depending on performance ONLY)

The Disaster Recovery (DR) Specialist supports the achievement of departmental and company goals related to IT disaster recovery strategy, planning, and testing. This resource is responsible for assisting IT delivery teams to design and implement their DR solutions for critical applications. Responsible for working with delivery teams on assessment, design, methods, educating best practices, and fostering a positive relationship to improve their DR posture. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, be an excellent and open communicator, and be an outstanding collaborator.
50%: Lead on-going disaster recovery planning and testing.
30%: Act as the strategic advocate for disaster planning by working with groups throughout the enterprise, including other IT functions, other lines of business and vendors.
10%: Develop and maintain disaster recovery standards, procedures, and guidelines for all supporting corporate groups.
10%: Coach, mentor, and develop employees in the DR discipline.

A successful candidate MUST possess the following skills:
In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure and different application architectures, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, servers, virtualization, databases, applications, middleware, APIs, web services, data backup/restore, etc.
Experience with DR-related activities and deliverables, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, recovery classification, mapping of business functions/products to IT platforms, and platform-level data collection/analysis/recovery planning/testing.
Extreme attention to detail with exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work well independently, and meet stringent timelines.
Strong project management skills.
Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with colleagues and support teams.
Seasoned professional that's dependable, honest and whose integrity provides and fosters an effective work environment.

Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications:
Laptop computer operating on Windows 10 & Office 365.
Possess the ability to navigate web based tools using bookmarks, URLs and hyperlinks.
Microsoft Outlook/Skype experience comprising the ability to monitor email, send and receive mail, flag emails for follow-up, schedule and manage meetings, etc.
Microsoft Excel experience comprising the ability to log data, copy and paste, insert columns and rows, navigating multiple worksheets and workbooks, filter and sort data, modify and / or create basic formulas, and saving workbooks to SharePoint, etc.
Microsoft Word experience comprising the ability to author and style documents, create tables-of-contents, embed/link other documents, etc.
Microsoft SharePoint experience comprising the ability to check-in/out documents, manage document versioning, etc.
Maintain logs and records as required; monitor daily progress toward goals and standards.
Additionally, the following skills are preferred:
Thorough knowledge and / or working experience in the service provider space of a national communications Multiple-System Operator (MSO).
Microsoft PowerPoint experience comprising the ability to author and style presentations, insert graphics, etc.
Experience using Remedy or similar trouble-ticketing system.
Experience with specific DR-industry tools. Administrator-level experience with tools is additionally preferred
DR-related credentials/certifications.
PMI PMP certification.
Experience with Cloud solutions (e.g., AWS and Microsoft Azure).
Past experience in IT Network Operations.
Previous database experience.
Information security background.
