RF Design Engineer

General Purpose
The RF engineer is tasked with managing in-building wireless projects from sales all the way to project closure including surveying, designing, proposing, managing, and commissioning projects. The successful RF engineer possesses the in-building wireless knowledge base to determine the most cost effective technology for any given application, designs the systems, and successfully generates large project revenues for the company. He/she has successfully designed and commissioned complex, large scale (>1M ft2), neutral host and public safety DAS systems. He/she demonstrates the project management skills to drive projects of this magnitude to completion on time and under budget.

Essential Duties
100% of customer SLA's (service level agreement/due date) met excluding extenuating circumstances
100% of projects are delivered at or under budget (excluding change order exceptions)
Drives large scale project gross revenue for the business line per quarter

Essential Functions
Knowledge of RF Communications
Employee possesses a sound understanding of antenna and amplifier properties and characteristics. The RF engineer is also an expert in using a spectrum analyzer and collecting RF signal measurements for numerous wireless technologies.

Knowledge of In-Building Technologies
Employee is proficient with the latest DAS manufacturers Corning, Commscope, SOLiD, ADRF, JMA, etc. and can deliver sound Distributed Antenna System designs for each.

Knowledge of Wireless Communications Technologies
Employee possess a working knowledge of all major wireless technologies (LTE, CDMA, GSM, UMTS, etc.), MIMO characteristics and can deliver multi-carrier / neutral host designs that are acceptable to all wireless carrier standards and are cost-effective. The RF engineer is adept at performing signal analysis of all technologies mentioned above and understands their channel characteristics.

Knowledge of Public Safety/Trunking/1-2 Way Radio Communications & Technologies
Employee possess a working knowledge of both analog and digital systems for the 150, 450, 700, 800, 900 MHz frequency bands. The RF engineer can deliver designs that are acceptable according to all standards and are cost-effective. The RF engineer is adept at performing signal analysis for the signals mentioned above and understands their channel characteristics. The RF engineer understands how to commission, optimize, and troubleshoot these systems.

Project Management
Employee can successfully manage a project to completion through effective coordination of customers, carriers, and internal departments through logistical management skills. The RF Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all DAS performance meets the highest quality standards.

Customer Management
Employee is adept at presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical customers. Tenure in Sales Engineering is
key. Employee is also proficient at managing customer expectations and obtaining new revenue opportunities.

Supervisory Requirements
Motivate, coach, train, and develop less experienced RF engineers.
Build morale and maintain good teamwork.
Serve as a senior engineer on the team where less experienced members may seek assistance.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree REQUIRED. (Wireless, EE, or similar engineering preferred)

Job Experience
Mastery in designing of multi-sector, neutral host DAS using most major
DAS OEMs such as Corning, Commscope, SOLiD, ADRF, JMA, etc.
Mastery in commissioning of multi-sector, neutral host DAS using most
major DAS OEMs such as Corning, Commscope, SOLiD, ADRF, JMA, etc.
Mastery in Link Budgets for multiple technologies/frequencies.
Mastery of iBwave software
Mastery of Microsoft Office Software (Particularly MS Excel)
Mastery of DAS commissioning, optimization, and troubleshooting
Mastery in common DAS Equipment including Coaxial Cable, Antennas,
Splitters, Fiber Cable, etc.
Mastery in Public Safety/Trunking/1-2 Way radio communications.
Mastery in managing budgets and project schedules

Physical Demands
Must be able to climb ladders and perform lengthy site walks.

When not in the office the position will encounter various work environments in the field including but not limited to
office space, warehouse, refineries, power plants, manufacturing facilities, new construction environments, hotels,
airports, and agencies.
