Instructional Designer/Technical Writer

SEARCH Group Partners, a premier recruiting firm, is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer/Technical Writer for one of our clients Priority Dispatch in Salt Lake City, UT.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for development, enhancement, and maintenance of instructional materials for instructor-led and web-based training related to public safety dispatch and quality assurance. 

Here are a few things you'll likely find yourself doing in this role...
  • Develops, evaluates, revises, and enhances training curricula and related materials
  • Develops and writes course manuals
  • Develops and produces training presentation
  • Develops and writes exams and other evaluation tools
  • Designs and writes content for web-based training modules
  • Trains contract instructors to teach courses and use various instructional materials
  • Assists in the development of product schedules, tracks progress on assigned projects, and communicates progress to relevant individuals/departments
  • Organizes and writes technical documents and other business material per established corporate standards
  • Organizing and coordinating information and deadlines
  • Problem-solving
  • Creating written communication
  • Frequent computer use
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Concentrating for long periods of time
Here's what you need to have...
  • Bachelor's Degree (or comparable work experience) in instructional design, technical writing, or other similar field
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong content organization skills
  • Strong editing/proofreading skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing information quickly
  • Ability to accept feedback and constructive criticism
  • Ability to maintain a positive and supportive attitude toward work, instructors, and colleagues
