SEARCH Group Partners, a premier recruiting firm, is looking for an experienced full stack, web developer for one of our clients located in the greater Salt Lake City area.

Our client is a REIT that owns and manages apartment communities throughout the country with a relentless focus on delivering excellent service to our residents.
The key goals of the software development team are to improve the operational efficiency by facilitating the sharing of key data across different platforms, supporting ancillary business units, developing analytical tools to measure the performance of our in-house applications, and working with key stakeholders to identify and better understand areas that may benefit from technical solutions.
The Software Developer, will work collaboratively and individually within a team environment to develop, design, and maintain web based and other specialized applications in support of our client and its ancillary services companies.

Here are a few things you'll likely find yourself doing in this role...
  • Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test, and modify computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications
  • Produce high quality front-end and back-end code across multiple platforms in accordance with programming standards and best practices
  • Test, analyze, and debug existing code, database systems, and solutions
  • Document existing and new code and processes
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand and define project requirements
  • Participate and assist in solution design and architecture functions
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in existing code, processes, and solutions
  • Client, anticipate, and resolve problems involved in integrating new technologies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems caused by hardware, operating systems software, application programs, or network failures
  • Collaborate with and support other members of the software development team
  • Identify and recommend additional features, functionalities, and applications that could be implemented to support and advance the goals of the department and the company
  • Provide excellent customer service in support of in-house teams and end users
  • Interact in a positive and friendly manner with customers and coworkers
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager
  • Report to Director of Software Engineering

  • Possess ability to work on multiple tasks and deliver on-time while working with multiple internal and external team members across several disciplines and locations

  • Flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Experienced in problem solving, and able to follow a methodical implementation process
  • Ability to exercise poise, tactfulness, diplomacy, and good interpersonal skills in order to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Two-year college degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field and/or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial software and web-based application development
  • Strong proficiency with JavaScript and PHP
  • Familiarity with MVC JavaScript or PHP frameworks such as Node.js, Ember.js, or Laravel
  • The ability and desire to learn and master one or more of those frameworks
  • Experience with both front-end and back-end development
  • Experience with technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, REST, SOAP, Ajax, JSON, LESS/SASS, MySQL, Redis, SSH, and Git
  • Understanding of data structures, code structure, API's and object-oriented design and development
  • Familiarity with IDE-based development
  • Structured thinker, effective communicator, strong analytic skills
  • Excellent understanding of core programming concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver work on time
  • Proven ability to self-teach and passion for continued learning
Additional Desired Experience
  • Familiarity with Testing Procedures and Continuous Integration strategies
  • Familiarity and experience with UI/UX design and best practices
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or GIMP
  • Java or Objective C development experience
  • Cross platform mobile development experience
