Sales Manager
SEARCH Group Partners, a premier recruiting firm, is looking for an experienced Sales Manager for one of our clients located in Westlake Village, CA. 
BASIC FUNCTION

 
Meet with new and existing clients to take applications for residential mortgage loans; engage in marketing efforts to build client base and increase business; manage a sales team within a branch, recruit new loan originators and work with existing originators to increase loan volume. Ensure loan originators are performing their duties and responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, local rules and regulations and adhering to company policies and procedures. Manage the Team to achieve production goals and set annual production forecasts. Maintain individual licensing in good standing at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 
  1. Meet with borrowers to take applications for purchase and refinance transactions.
  2. Engage in marketing efforts to increase personal business, client and referral base.
  3. Develop and manage an annual production plan and business plan.
  4. Recruit, train and mentor Loan Originators to close a minimum of 3 loans per month, or $750,000 per month within 90 days of hire.
  5. Mentor existing Loan Originators to increase their business; assist in developing partnerships and referral relationships that will translate into long-term quality clients for the Loan Originator and focus their business on purchase-business.
  6. Request additional training from the corporate office in needed areas.
  7. Attend company and branch meetings as required; prepare reports and updates as required.
  8. Increase competitor intelligence and use knowledge in strategic planning.
  9. Manage personal production successfully.
  10. Assist with daily problem-solving and trouble-shooting.
  11. Ensure that an environment of teamwork is maintained at all times.
  12. Maintain the highest possible level of customer service.
  13. Interface with other departments as necessary to ensure the smooth operation and growth of the Team.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 
  1. Minimum of 5 years of mortgage operations or sales experience preferred.
  2. Manages Loan Originators to maintain a minimum of 3 closed loans per month.
  3. Manages the Team production to achieve overall production goals where at least 95% are correspondent loans.
  4. Manages the Team production to achieve overall production goals with a 80% purchase volume goal.
  5. Maintains a minimum of 5 closed loans per month in personal production.
  6. Is approachable, visible and available to loan originators.
  7. Leadership: Exudes a positive attitude, mentors employees, sets a good example.
  8. Discipline: Addresses performance issues in a timely manner and documents incidents, is equitable is disciplinary action and compensation.
 
  1. Provides Training: Encourages employee growth and provides training and cross-training opportunities for employees.
  2. Seeks Feedback: Has regular communication with employees, seeks the feedback of employees and keeps lines of communication open.
  3. Sets Clear Expectations for Employees: Meets with employees regularly to discuss performance issues, projects, changes in procedures and/or duties, completes performance reviews in a timely and equitable manner.
  4. Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  5. Knowledge of mortgage industry practices and regulations.
  6. Strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgment and decision making abilities.
  7. High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  8. Strong customer service values and the ability to deliver a high level of responsiveness to both internal and external customers.
  9. Ability to be flexible, multi-task and organize priorities in a fast paced work environment, while maintaining a high level of focus and accuracy
  10. High level of computer literacy.
  11. Knowledge of mortgage industry practices.
  12. Ensure the department's adherence to all regulations, compliance standards and internal policies.
