Quality Assurance Engineer

SEARCH Group Partners, a premier recruiting firm, is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer for one of our largest software clients, Priority Dispatch, located in Salt Lake City, UT

The Quality Assurance Engineer serves as a resource to the development department for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement regarding PDC's propriety software products such as ProQA, AQUA, and LowCode. Success in this position requires a high degree of skill in problem-solving, oral and written communications, teamwork, learning on the fly, and a strong determination to succeed.

Here are a few things you'll likely find yourself doing in this role...
  • Developing, applying, and maintaining quality requirements and standards for development products
  • Testing and inspecting updates to software systems
  • Creating, executing and analyzing quality-reporting measures
  • Reporting to management on quality issues, trends and losses
  • Developing scripts and .dll programs for products and testing
  • Reviewing change requests on proof sheets and ensuring that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans
  • Designing and implementing methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
  • Providing detailed feedback to software developers and clients when problems have been resolved
  • Compiling, writing and delivering training material on quality standards and activities
  • Compiling, writing and updating installation guides
Here's what you need to have...
  • BS degree in Computer Sciences or related field or equivalent related QA experience
  • Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, software, TCP/IP and networking
  • Ability to write and execute scripts (DB Workbench, React, Python, Perl, etc)
  • Understanding of Firebird and SQL databases
  • Basic programming knowledge/experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet strict deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to solve problems from identification through resolution with minimal direction
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
