Our client is looking for someone who can help implekent an enterprise-wide data and digital strategy that moves the client towards a greater focus on the use of data and data-driven insights. This is a hands-on, execution focused role helping translate data architecture to execution. This position will report to the Data Architecture Solutions Center of Excellence Lead.

Responsiblities:
  • Quickly develop a strong understanding of the clients' data elements, user requirements, environments and architecture; then translate these into a data architecture that meets performance, scalability, and availability needs.
  • Collaborate with customers, analysts, other architects, data modelers, developers, program management, partners, and vendors.
  • Guide the full lifecycle of a Data Solution, including but not limited to:
    • Understanding the Business Capabilities that are required and translate this to Data Capabilities and Data Architecture
    • Assist the customer (and business solutions analysts) to define and declare non-functional requirements for building out data solution capabilities
    • Design data architecture, data solutions, and its digital data infrastructure to meet business requirements on time and within budget
    • Assist in the creation of cost estimates including implementation as well as total cost of ownership
    • Ensure security by design to meet Information Security policies, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Regulatory requirements, and industry best practice
    • Work with data modelers to translate the data solution to data models
    • Work with quality assurance team on testing approach
    • Lead design reviews (pre-development) and implementation reviews (post-development) to ensure principles, policies, and standards are followed, and that technical debt is managed
    • Participate in the definition of adoption and experience metrics for the data solution to measure the success of the data solution
  • Present architecture decisions, explain the end to end data journey, educate others how they can contribute, and provide guidance on tool usage.
  • Document standards, and cost and performance metrics for different data flow patterns, and provide project teams the ability to decide the most appropriate pattern for their requirements, timeline, and budget.
  • Manage and govern the lab environment to facilitate multiple PoCs, ensuring cost management and compliance with internal standards.
  • Engage with tool vendors on their roadmaps and appropriate usage of their tools.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of Data-focused architecture, design and hands-on experience.
  • Hands-on experience with architecting, implementing, and performance tuning of some of the below:
    • Azure cloud platform environment
    • Data Lake technologies (e.g. HDFS, Hive, SQOOP, Spark)
    • Relational databases and structured query languages
    • NoSQL databases and query languages
    • Message queues and streaming technologies
    • Microservices
    • Integration and ETL/ELT technologies
    • Metadata management and data governance
    • Data science tools and Python or R code
