IT Portfolio Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Lead operations work-stream of a portfolio to support the on-boarding through to exiting the portfolio. 
  • Coordinate the reporting requirements. 
  • Develop the operational engagement model. 
  • Managing the portfolio’s operational SLAs and ensuring that they are met or working with shared services/third parties to put in place plans to meet agreed SLAs. 
  • Assist with due diligence, on-boarding and exiting of a portfolio from an operational perspective. 
  • Review of operations business processes documentation and identify any gaps. 
  • Assist management in running monthly portfolio and steering meetings and keeping action logs & meeting minutes. 
  • Work with key stakeholders in Actuarial, Finance, Claims, Shared Services and TPAs to prepare clear and concise presentations that cover broad topics in managing portfolio lines for run-off operations. 
  • Coordinate operational integration efforts and projects in US and regional offices. 
  • Support ad hoc projects that streamline existing legacy business processes in areas such as finance, treasury, IT and TPA vendor services.  
  • Coordinate the required operational data with relevant IT and business stakeholders; 
  • Manage data transfers where required. 
  • Prepare detail operational transition plans. 
  • Ensure any operational issues and risks are addressed accordingly. 
  • Engage with third parties and shared services to agree portfolio requirements and applicable SLAs. 
  • Lead the Operational work stream activities.  
  • Ensure that operational and IT controls are adhered to in each portfolio.  
  • Ensure business continuity plans are updated and filed accurately with regulatory agencies. 
  • Support in delivering the exit strategy and deal due diligence support  
  • Run bilingual meetings and ensure content is properly translated.  
  •  Manage the portfolio post transaction activities to finality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience insurance industry experience
  • Project management experience – “PMP” designation ideal
  • Fluent in Spanish and English – written and spoken.
  • Required 5-15% travel to Chicago area. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of finance and insurance.
  • Understand of claims processing for life and non-life operations - notification to adjudication.
  • Demonstrated contribution to large scale, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experienced in managing Shared Services, third parties, and individual contributors.
  • Knowledge of actuarial reserving techniques and processes an advantage.
  • Experience in Operations, Claims and Underwriting processes.
  • Understanding and managing of operational KPIs.
  • Experience with Visio and MS Project Management is a plus.
