Sr. Network Engineer

Vector's client is a growing government contractor focusing on managed care services and cyber security. They have an engaging culture focused on team collaboration. They seek a Senior Network Engineer with demonstrated experience creating and managing critical, complex, operational networks with a variety of Cisco network devices and direct systems and network experience in a complex technical environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with a variety of Cisco network devices to include but not limited to; routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, load balancers, virtual switches, fiber channel, iSCSI, Ethernet and other data transmission technologies. Proven experience implementing and managing F5 load balancers in a multi-site server environment is also required.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical direction, leadership and contributions in support of datacenter consolidation, to include migration and integration into cloud based services architecture
• The ability to make operational critical decisions and to provide oversight for all other network operating systems, firmware and hardware personnel supporting the Client's Infrastructure and systems
• Knowledge and experience in advanced maintenance techniques and failover plans & capabilities
• Expertise in leading complex technical projects and managing high level technical personnel
• Proven in implementing hardware, firmware and software upgrades into a complex 24/7 operational environment
• Knowledge of WAN/LAN circuitry to include OC3, DS3, T-1, Ethernet and other high speed data network technologies
• Experience with multi-vendor, multi-layer, security architecture, from WAN edge to core LAN/datacenter networks and VLANs; managing multi-site operational systems
• A firm understanding of other government and industry accepted information security technology, policy, guidance and directives, including encryption and certificate exchange and revocation
• At least seven years of experience of combined management, development, implementation and maintenance of systems consisting of network hardware, server farms, SANs and tape drives.
• A bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, physical sciences or mathematics from an accredited university is required.
• Secret Clearance required; ideal is a Client EAD
