It offers diverse third party validated product portfolio lines, which include industrial microbiology testing, rapid detection methods for food-borne pathogens, the quantitative measurement of microorganisms, and hygiene monitoring. The company primarily sells its products to food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, contract testing labs and government labs. BioControl is based in Bellevue, WA (U.S.).
Acquired by Client in January 2017, BioControl is now part of the BioMonitoring Business of Client KGaA. ClientSigma is looking for an Applications and Training Specialist for innovative rapid microbiology testing methods for food safety. The ideal employee will conduct technical product training programs in North America. This position requires 50-75% travel.
The Technical Training Manager will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining and implementing components of a comprehensive technical training and certification program for customers. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical, quantitative and project management skills and understand a Quality environment. Candidates should also have experience working with customers and Sales teams.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Maintain and execute a comprehensive training and certification program for food safety customers
• Support customers to use BioControl Quality Control methods from installation to routine use. This includes on-site support
• Lead, manage and enhance BioControl’s training focused on providing engaging, relevant and impactful education and training to North American customer base
• Create innovative training solutions, including video content, virtual training and other mechanisms to deliver technical training on properly operation and basic troubleshooting of BioControl equipment
• Ensure that training records are tracked, maintained and archived
• Participate and lead the implementation of the strategy to train global regions following a train-the-trainer model on the installation and operation of BioControl equipment and products
• Work with Product Management to incorporate training messages into regional, functional and business communications to further support training program strategy
• Create trust in the use of Quality Control methods with BioControl customers
• Establish and maintain metrics and reporting to reflect effectiveness of training programs
• Present updates, findings, and recommendations to internal counterparts and business unit leaders at all levels of the organization as needed for project assignments
• Assess existing as well as develop new tools and processes related to training
• Serves as an advocate for rapid technologies in Quality Control
• Applications support, instrument installation and troubleshooting

Secondary responsibilities include:
• Perform Feasibility Study on customer samples in house and equipment evaluation at customer site for pre-sale support of different microbiology testing equipment for Pharma
• Perform in house Testing Method Development on customer products for microorganism detection
• Sample testing data analysis and troubleshooting
• Execute IQ/OQ validation protocols for microbiological testing equipment at customer’s site used in the testing of pharmaceutical products or processes: install and prepare equipment and supplies, perform testing, document test results, write reports and maintain records
• Ensure all systems are running according to necessary specifications and operate within regulations to ensure testing of quality products
• Train customers on performing equipment operation and sample testing
• Provide PQ consulting to assist customers with test method suitability execution
• Guiding customers on regulatory requirements for sample testing and industry standards
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment on-site if needed
• Coordinate with customers and various internal functions to complete services on a timely manner (customer and technical service, sales and marketing)
• Partner with the sales team to support the sales process, development of opportunities
• Prepares weekly and monthly reports, plans and manages workload and budget
• Assist in development of testing protocols
Basic Qualifications:
• 4 plus years of experience in training field, project or program management, communication, and training, preferably in food safety
• Experience in scientific laboratory setting and/or familiarity with lab procedures
• Bachelor’s in science degree required
