IT Network Engineer

Manager will pay straight time for hours worked over 40 in a week.
Standard work week (Monday- Friday, 8-5)

Scope of Position
Provide planning, documentation, and network engineering support for projects requiring network implementation, modification, or upgrade. Design, test, and implement LAN, and Wireless networks within the Client manufacturing network infrastructure. Some travel required for site surveys and implementation.

• BS in Computer Science /Systems Management/IT Related field
• Core routing and switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
• Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches
• Cisco Routers and routing protocols
• Spanning-tree, VLANs, Port Channels, Load balancing, SPAN, NAT, ACL
• Authentication: TACACS+, RADIUS

Required Skills
• 5+ years of experience in LAN and Wireless LAN implementation, troubleshooting and design.
• 5+ years IT experience working across multiple technology areas, with at least 1 year working as a senior engineer or similar technology role.
• Large local area switching and routing network (?5,000 end devices) design and support experience in a manufacturing environment
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in virtual teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, and all associated protocols.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio

Desired Skills/Experience
• CCNP\CCIE\CCNA Preferred
• Experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco firewalls a plus
