Specific Responsibilities and Skills for the Position:
The Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Accounting, and support accounting and payroll functions for US and Canada. The Accounting Manager will support day-to-day activities, projects, system implementations and process improvements. The Accounting Manager must be able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. The position requires the individual to have the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize work, demonstrate accountability, and meet established deadlines.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
• Create or review journal entries for balance sheet adjustments, accruals, prepaids, cash, etc.
• Perform or review reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
• Perform or review balance sheet fluctuation analysis.
• Ability to analyze data, and apply accounting concepts, including multi-currency analysis.
• Evaluate routine processes, recommend and implement process improvements.
• Prepare audit schedules for accounting and/or payroll.
• Develop PowerPoint presentations and business case proposals for enhancements, tools or procedural changes to support new initiatives.
• Support cross-functional initiatives led by other teams.
• Establish strong partnerships with key internal organizations such as Controllership, Financial Planning, Tax, Payroll, Treasury, and Accounts Payable functions.
• Assist with managing or supporting US and Canada payroll operations as needed.
• Review work of payroll analysts and/or perform payroll reconciliations.
• Support Oracle ERP upgrade project, OBIEE reporting, system testing.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
• 6+ years of relevant experience and a BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle R12 is preferred.
• Experience in large, multi-national organizations is a plus.
• Must be able to apply accounting knowledge to day-to-day operations and assigned projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word) is required.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, meeting deadlines in an accurate and timely manner.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Experience with ADP and Workday software platforms preferred.
