One of the nation's leading pharmaceutical companies seeks a QC Chemist who will be responsible for providing technical support for Clinton Quality Control to ensure compliance with cGMP, safety and company requirements. The analytical chemist interacts with laboratory technicians and supervision, Quality Assurance, manufacturing, and technical services to solve problems, improve laboratory practices and methods, and to implement improvement in business processes.
  • Be the safety role-model to the technicians, ensuring that proper PPE is always utilized.Identify and eliminate laboratory hazards, where possible
  • Responsible for compliance with all procedures, safety, and regulatory commitments in QC.
    Act as an OWNER and a CHANGE AGENT for the department to enhance lab operations and infrastructure.
    Maintain analytical methods in the assigned area of the laboratory in a state of validation, ensuring execution of the method is in a state of control.
  • Exhibit technical expertise of the laboratory methodology and material specifications.
    Write/review/approve protocols for investigational purposes. Act as primary investigator on all laboratory deviations, attempting to get to root cause on technical issues to minimize reoccurrence. Assist in training of core skills to the laboratory technicians.
  • Assist in developing and executing the business plan for the department
    Participate in special projects to enhance safety, productivity, quality (e.g., 6 Sigma)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years' of Chemist experience
  • Required to work in a laboratory environment (wearing safety glasses and laboratory clothing required). Some exposure to allergens possible in laboratory environment.
  • Expertise in HPLC (required), GCP, Karl Fischer, and wet chemistry
  • Proficiency in some of the following computer systems: DARWIN, Empower, SmartLab, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Trackwise CAPA
  • Self-driven and able to work independently.
