VMWare System Administrator
The successful candidate must have enterprise experience in VMWare infrastructure processes and P2V migration processes. They must have the ability to learn and implement new technology developments while providing technical leadership within IT in keeping the our financial client VMware Infrastructure current.
• Expert knowledge of VM Infrastructure
o vSphere 6.X
o VMWare P2V process and competing product lines
o vRealize experiance
o vCenter Operations Manager (vCOPS)
o VMware Update Manager (VUM)
• Experience in build and operational support of various NAS/DAS/SAN devices
• Cisco UCS Server Hardware experience
• Experience in defining and implementing Disaster Recovery services
• Infrastructure Provisioning
• Security Standards
• Capacity and Performance monitoring
• As part of the overall Windows hosting team the candidate will also need a working knowledge of...
o Active Directory
o Microsoft SQL (All Versions)
o Microsoft Exchange
o Microsoft IIS
o Citrix Farming technologies and end user connection points
o Windows server 2003, 2008, R2, and MS clustering
o Avamar
As part of the overall Windows Hosting team all member must have the following soft skills to succeed.
• Ability and desire to work together as large team to perform all centralized Windows functions
• Fundamental understanding of network and storage concepts.
• PowerShell experience pertaining to automating re-occurring tasks, troubleshooting and overall administration of the VMware environment?
• All members of the team will be part of a rotational on call cadence to supply our financial client with 24X7 coverage
• Ability to refine the architecture and workflows to tune to scale based on the enterprise needs.
• Ability to present and advocate enterprise standards, technology standards, environment policies, procedures, strategies and best practices in working with different users, teams and application areas.
• Ability to communicate to and manage a wide user base in providing information, providing education and managing expectations in the process of the overall management of the service.
