Ecommerce Architect

The Director, Global Solution Architecture will be responsible for finding value-creating opportunities inside and outside of the business . This role involves developing working relationships with internal business stakeholders including those in Marketing, Merchandising, Omni-channel, and Regional roles to capture business needs and develop requirements and specifications for systems and applications that meet those requirements.


• Direct and coordinate the business analysis & requirement elicitation process of the new e-commerce platform, as well as other e-commerce related technology and operations solutions
• Work with the different organizational teams to provide interim ownership of "core” functionality. Provide gap analysis and strategic criteria feedback
• Collaborate with Business Owner and product owner to align product requirements with business objectives
• Develop a digital analytics framework and program for test driven product development; articulate requirements for instrumenting, capturing and analyzing digital and mobile usage, transactions and relevant BI and analytics
• Assess business, market and client needs across the organization and develop new processes, requirements
• Partner with brand , marketing & strategy teams as well as data architects, operations , customer service and engineering to guide development of new capability through strong technical knowledge, problem solving and business analysis skills
• Generate creative solutions, use different approaches to resolve issues, generate ideas for improvement

• Liaise with NA, EMEA, APAC and LATAM regional e-commerce affiliate and production teams to understand local market needs/requirements
• Develop local technology recommendations and roadmap that integrate with global product development vision and roadmap

• Participate heavily in evaluation and selection of technology partners by providing business and tech requirements
• Be the first point of contact for all project requirements including technical questions from vendors
• "build or buy analysis”- understanding from a product POV, what comprises our core suite of foundational functionality and help to determine next steps in determining the build direction (purchase/reference of third party software or build the functionality in house)

Required Skills and Knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of the business and technology domains. (experience in one or more of these domains online media, social media, e-commerce, release management, content management systems, online analytics )
• Demonstrated understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, data management, content management and knowledgeable in technology and digital platforms
• Experience in designing and building data, analytics and reporting programs for e-commerce. Fluent in using analytical tools such as tableau, google analytics, Microsoft BI, business objects, excel etc. (preferred)
• Strong skills in strategy, research, business analysis, vendor selection, ROI analytics and product management
• Developed and presented communications to senior management both internally and externally
• Fluent in ecommerce onsite analytics & metrics, understanding what drives performance and what is a red herring (preferred)
• Worked with 3rd party data sources, combining multiple data sets, creating automated processes, to produce a cohesive picture of performance and derive insights and recommendations
• Designed and executed pilot programs to empirically test new business concepts (A/B testing)
• Experience with digital marketing or web analytics (Omniture, Google Analytics, SEO,PPC, CPM etc.)

Qualifications :

• Position requires minimum of 8+ years' experience.
• 6 or more years' experience in online projects required
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, team and communications skills
• Experience managing other producers/project managers/business analysts
• Independent thinker with proven ability to think through problems and present solutions
• Flexible, able to work in fluid environment with multiple on-going projects and tight deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate technical concepts in business terminology
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field from an accredited college or university; Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Experience working in an agile development environment. Certified Scrum Master or Certified Product owner background (a plus)
• Experience working in an agency or consultancy environment a plus
