Contract Analyst

The Analytics Specialist- Contractor is part of the Market Access Operations team and specifically is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal pricing legislation, monitoring changes that impact pricing strategies and providing actionable data insights from a variety of sources.

This position requires extensive understanding of:
• Commercial, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, CHIP, and Medicare D payors,
• the implications of contract and market access strategies,
• the individual needs of supported therapeutic areas,
• Client product knowledge, as well as competitors and generics,
• a variety of databases used to generate analytics and insights.

This position includes the management of multiple complex projects simultaneously and requires the ability to analyze complex data and provide summarized recommendations to senior leadership to support decision making.

40% - Strategic Reporting and Analysis:
• Create and develop reports and models by proactively identifying needs of senior leadership regarding pricing analytics and rebate liability impact
• Convert analyses to actionable insights and articulate their meaning and/or implications to support decision making.

40%- State and Federal Pricing Transparency:
• Research all passed and pending state and federal drug pricing transparency legislation and create a model to track requirements around thresholds, timelines, and calculations.
• Develop pricing models for each state to determine liability and necessary reporting requirements.
• Research competitive products and maintain a report for senior leadership to capture cumulative price increases over a specific period of time.
• Monitor and communicate the impact of competitor price changes to senior leadership.

20% - Ad Hoc Data Requests:
• Support the various groups within Market Access by creating and providing tailored reports from several data sources under tight timelines with the expectation of high quality deliverables.

• Undergraduate degree required
• 3 years of a business analytics experience preferably in life sciences
• Prior Managed Care / Market Access or consulting experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge of Excel is required
• Strong ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects
• Strong communication skills – verbal and power point presentations
• Experience with IMS PlanTrak, Fingertip Formulary, specialty pharmacy, and other healthcare databases are a plus
