 Data Engineer

If you share our values, you should have:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • Experience participating in the build and support of APIs using resource based design principles
  • Minimum of 3 years of fluency in a JVM language such as Java or Scala, or demonstrated mastery of another language
  • A level of comfort with SOLID software design principles and proven experience building non-trivial software systems
  • Demonstrated experience with data architecture and modeling, including designing both logical and physical models for datasets
  • Proficiency in working with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, etc.
  • Proven experience modeling large datasets in distributed databases such as Apache Cassandra
  • Knowledge of at least one NoSQL database such as Neo4j, CouchDB, etc.
 
 
 
Bonus points for:
  • Experience with Platform-as-a-Service software such as Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes
  • Demonstrated experience building cloud native applications in a public cloud such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
  • Experience contributing to open source projects
  • Experience with stream processing, e.g. Kafka, Spark Streaming, Akka, Flink, etc.
  • Knowledge of data science practices, to better steer our efforts to support them through the infrastructure we create
