JOB SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, provides implementation and maintenance support of the Denver Health network environment, including the service offerings to integrate voice, video and data. Guides development and implementation of scalable network solutions for clinical and campus environments including but not limited to: LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, Firewall, Network Management, and LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure redesign/upgrade of existing network. Holds and demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the following specific enterprise environment internetworking technologies: Multi-protocol environments, TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, QoS, Voice-over-IP, Video-over-IP, Wireless Survey, Cisco Wireless LAN Controller, Cisco ASA platform, VPN concentrators, IPSec/3DES, H.323, Ethernet switching, 802.1q, spanning-tree, Cisco chassis and fixed switch configurations. Assesses the overall impact of any change to a complex environment and present any associated risk factors to management. May act as team lead and coordinate department workflow.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field, or equivalent training in the area of LAN/WAN/WLAN network and in the implementation and support of those networks. Minimum vendor certification of CCNP or Cisco Wireless LAN Design Specialist preferred. Technical training supplemented with continuing education courses/seminars.
Experience: Typically, 5 years of technical experience in LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure management with a BA Degree in Management Information Systems; or BA Degree in equivalent technical field. Without a technical degree, 7-10 years of technical experience in LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure management. 1 year experience in a team lead or supervisory role preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledgeable in LAN/WAN/WLAN, TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, QoS, Voice-over-IP, Video-over-IP, Wireless Survey, Cisco Wireless LAN Controller, Cisco ASA platform. Ability to troubleshoot problems and define solutions. Ability to assess the overall impact of any change to a complex environment and present any associated risk factors to management.
