Compensation Analyst

Under general supervision, collects information concerning wage and salaried jobs for use in determining equitable compensation of employees. Studies and analyzes assigned jobs, may prepare written job descriptions or summaries, and evaluates jobs in terms of an established evaluation plan. Performs audits periodically or on request to determine whether jobs have changed significantly from the original evaluation. May conduct wage, salary or benefit surveys for the purpose of determining competitive compensation levels. May determine job comparability and prepare input for surveys conducted by other organizations. Maintain hospital compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations regarding wage and hour laws. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree preferably in Human Resources, Business, Finance or other business related field. Course work in Human Resources, specifically Compensation, is preferred.
Experience: Typically one year of experience in the field or in a related area.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate professional and operational knowledge of the multiple Human Resource functional areas. Knowledge of statistics and applicable federal and state regulations regarding wage and hour laws and employment. Demonstrated organizational skills, and proven interpersonal/communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees within the organization. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to include spreadsheet design, formula application, data base administration, and presentation design. Ability to learn other software (Market Pay, Crystal Reports, Lawson) utilized within the HR Compensation Center. Ability to perform a variety of moderately complicated tasks. Creativity and latitude is expected. Remains current in field of compensation. Ability to maintain professional knowledge by attending educational meetings and training courses, reading relevant literature, and developing personal networks.
Certificate/License/Registration: PHR or CCP preferred. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
