Laboratory Technician

We are looking for a Lab Technician/Associate Scientist to work for full-time on a temporary 6 month contract to support key company initiatives in Biscuit Category.
Under the direct supervision, candidate's responsibilities will include, but not limited to -
- Performing experiments on the bench and pilot plant
- Documenting and reporting observations during processing
- Conducting product analyses including baking tests, and organoleptic evaluation
- Submitting samples for analytical analyses, as needed
- Maintaining lab and working areas in a clean and orderly manner and monitoring inventory of ingredients
- Entering and organizing data, compiling and analyzing results, drawing conclusions
- Writing lab reports and communicating results to project team

The candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to various stages of product development, original research and trouble-shooting. Candidate will have great opportunity to employ scientific principles and gain in-depth knowledge in specific areas of food science, especially bakery and grains.
It is desired that a candidate possesses:
- Bachelor's degree in food science or related field
- Previous food science related experience
- Superb attention to detail
- Ability to learn new skills and procedures quickly
- Ability to run multiple small projects concurrently
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Ability to work independently
- Highly motivated, determined, enthusiastic, flexible, and a good problem-solver
Anti-slip and/or steel toed shoes are required for this position.
