Automation Engineer

IMPORTANT: We are looking for the automation engineer for the HCM applications - please do not submit QA candidates with manual testing experience.

This is an onsite role and no remote option is available. Person should be able to live in the commutable distance to the listed location.

Participates in requirement gathering sessions with business sponsors and scrum masters - Contributes to conversations, identifies opportunities, is concise, fosters understanding, and advocates for end user
Create detailed system test plans for PeopleSoft HCM HR, Absence and North America Payroll from a functional testing perspective
Perform acceptance testing on PeopleSoft environments established for each of our clients
Assist the Technical, Coding, and Business Analysis teams with planning activities related to product specific Tax & Regulatory updates (i.e., bundle scheduling, project planning and tracking, etc.)
Facilitates/Attends project meetings and document meeting agendas and minutes.
Sets up environments/servers for testing needs
Propose/write/define appropriate test plans artifacts
Translates functional business requirements to Test Scenarios – experience with BDD/TDD is a plus. Able to transform these Test Scenarios into Automated scripts
Contributes to project plans/work packages as required.
Reviews and/or may participate in the development of test plans, cases and test data.
Performs integration and acceptance testing as required.
Verifies that test plans/cases were executed for unit, integration, and acceptance as required.
Participates in product release activities and contributes to troubleshooting enhancement and production support related issues.
Defect Management
Assess risk and perform bug scoring
Understand and actively participate in grooming/planning sessions (i.e. provides opinions/thoughts)
Puts quality of the product above finding defects
Manually test web and mobile applications
Thoroughly and accurately document identified bugs in a timely manner
Thoroughly and accurately recording all test results
Write clear and concise acceptance criteria/descriptions
Maintain test data management and experience with test data management
Works independently and successfully in unsupervised work environments and is capable of making sound business decisions consistently, with minimal guidance.

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in Automation testing
Development background experience in Java, JavaScript, Spring or other MVC framework, SQL, Databases (Oracle/MySQL/DB2), web/application servers (Tomcat/JBoss/WebLogic/Apache etc.), Peoplesoft or similar HCM ERP experience a must.
Experience in API & Web Services testing like Soap, REST etc
Experience of mocking dependent services for integration test purposes
Experience in any of the public cloud product is a plus (AWS, Oracle etc.)
Strong understanding of distributed systems.
In depth knowledge of SDLC and STLC in the Agile delivery model
Strong experience with dev ops tools JIRA, Zephyr Git, Jenkins
Strong experience with testing automation tools like Protractor and Selenium
Experience in BDD/TDD Cucumber frameworks
Up-to-date knowledge of test automation trends, technologies, methods, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in Planning, forecasting and presenting automation solutions
