Food Technologist
Responsibilities: 
  • Reports to business development director
  • Works independently and manages multiple projects - both short term and ongoing - on a deadline basis
  • Responsible for food and beverage applications preparation/ production of bench top and pilot lab prototypes
  • Ability to make a variety of relevant and creative food prototypes throughout the development process
  • Maintain current applications formulations, raw materials and quality specifications using current computer systems
  • Oversee shelf life studies, analytical and sensory testing to ensure that products are maintained, tested and reported in a timely manner
  • Application of flavors and flavoring materials and evaluation (sensory) in various food and beverage products
  • Maintains and applies good laboratory practices
 
Profile:
  • At least Bachelor Degree in Chemistry/Food Science/Food Technology or related science is required
  • 2-3 years of experience in flavor applications or food product development is required
  • Good sensory and olfactive skills in addition to creative and cognitive skills
  • Proficient in mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Knowledge of commercial food or beverage processing, sensory testing, and use of functional ingredients is a plus
  • Ability to work as a part of a team with minimal oversight
  • Proficient in MS Office with fluency in English language - both written and verbal
