Senior Tax - Non-PRofit

2- Positions are open for SFO and OAK, CA Offices
including schools, private foundations, arts and service organizations. In addition, they are highly motivated to advance in their career and within the Firm, provide excellent client service, and possess leadership qualities.
Primary Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and review non-profit returns (990/990-EZ/990-PF); Able to identify missing information and once received create effective work-papers to prepare the 990-series returns
  • Train, oversee, and supervise staff per the Firm's scheduling, processes and standards to ensure client deliverables are timely and efficient
  • Communicate effective review comments and provide follow up support for staffs' learning and development
  • Perform tax research and prepare memorandums with appropriate discussions and conclusions; including research to ascertain multi-state charitable solicitation requirements
  • Communicate compliance and governance issues effectively to management and clients when appropriate
  • Supervise multiple engagements at one time, effectively prioritize and delegate accordingly; Leverage appropriately so as to be able to engage more complex aspects of engagements to develop to next level
  • Own engagements from start to finish, manage budgets and time lines for deliverables to be timely and of high quality
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of tax compliance and consulting experience;1 -2 years Non-profit/exempt organizations focus preferred
  • Bachelors and/or Master's Degree in Accounting/Tax
  • CPA license preferred
  • High degree of proficiency in the English language, both grammatically correct writing and speaking; strong proofreading skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and a passion for continuous professional development
  • Strong desire to grow niche area expertise in non-profit tax
  • Strong analytical ability, research, and project management skills
  • Team supervisory skills
  • Professional and collegial in approach and demeanor
  • Ability to build and cultivate relationships and positive rapport both internally and with clients
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong proficiency in various software tools; Advanced Excel proficiency; ProSystem Tax and Practice Engagement software a plus
