Job Description The Systems Administrator will join a small but high impact team of technologists responsible for all aspects of firm wide operations spanning platform architecture, trading & execution, market data, and middle & back office. The role is located at the New York City offices of Welton and will focus on architecture and implementation of the firm's infrastructure and support of network, host, storage, database and platform areas.

This is a role requiring a deep interest in heterogeneous systems, ability to own complex technological problems, and a good level of intuition towards taking the optimal problem resolution path. Candidate must be able to perform under pressure and have the ability to handle a wide array of multi-faceted tasks and see them through to completion. The candidate is expected to have great attention to detail and tenacity to get things right.

The Systems Administrator will possess strong work ethics and will be called upon to timely diagnose and fix problems in a fast paced 24*5 trading environment.

Notes
  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Hands-on experience designing and administering LAN/VLAN topologies, Cisco switches and routers, firewalls, VPNs.
  • Hands-on experience in management of operating systems (Windows, CentOS), virtualization, VMWare, Windows/Linux interoperation, name/directory services, LDAP/DNS, host administration and related automation.
  • Hands-on experience working with SAN/NAS solutions, designing distributed storage schemes, administration of NFS/CIFS, file distribution/rsync, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in database administration and tuning. MS SQL preferred.
  • Experience in working with cloud-based systems, AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Experience with security systems, authentication/authorization, Kerberos, DC/PDC, private key, SSH, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability in implementation of host and network configuration management solutions.
  • Experience in the implementation of effective infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Extensive experience in scripting languages such as Powershell, Python, Perl, bash.
Other:
  • Hours may vary but primary hours will be starting around 7am ET.
  • The candidate will be on a rotation schedule with other team members to cover operations on national holidays.
  • Interest in financial markets a plus.
