Summary/Objective
The Infrastructure Architect is an essential individual contributor responsible for defining, standardizing and governing core infrastructure of servers, storage, virtualization, windows enterprise, networking and telephony to support Information Technology as a whole. As a recognized expert in IT infrastructure solutions, the ideal candidate will design approaches that optimize architecture across customer needs, business constraints and technological realities. This includes keeping current with industry trends and standards, both from a business and technical standpoint. The infrastructure architect will develop technical roadmaps for future implementations and perform advanced systems modeling, simulation and analysis to ensure the soundness of the solution.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure alignment of infrastructure solutions to business objectives through to implementation.
  • Recommend technology improvements or corrections to improve performance of operational systems.
  • Participate in technology vendor solution and system overview sessions.
  • Perform technical architecture analysis of new and existing systems.
  • Work with peer architects (i.e. – security architect, enterprise architect) to produce future state architectures and transition architectures
  • Create line of sight from applications, services and data stores to technical infrastructure components
  • Maintain Infrastructure Technology Catalog
  • Produce technology / infrastructure architecture drawings
  • Collaborate with PMO to provide key infrastructure input to drive current projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure technology solutions comply with compliance and risk management policies
  • Work with vendor management (SPO) to ensure third party technology solutions comply with policies and standards
  • Assist on an escalated level during incident outages
Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Information Management or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years architecture experience\
  • Minimum of 15 years IT experience with experience running a global IT infrastructure, particularly in a virtualized environment
  • Previous role as a senior level systems or network engineer
  • Demonstrated experience with driving architecting / designing infrastructure technology solutions
  • Experience provisioning virtualized infrastructures – Cloud, Hybrid and other patterns
  • Strong technical depth across infrastructure technology areas -- depth in several areas, and breadth and interest across a much larger range
  • Drive re-architecture of existing systems to implement streamlined, well-performing, and scalable architectures
  • Solid background in various IT Systems and technologies (including, OSes, Storage, Networking, Database, Middleware, VMware, AWS, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with planning and design tools (Visio and MS Project)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conceive solutions from elaboration of requirements
  • Ability to maintain composure and multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Windows and the Internet
  • Must be a self-motivator while actively participating in a team environment
  • Experience coordinating multiple assignments in a complex environment preferred
  • Experience facilitating solution sessions
  • Assist with vendor RFP processes where needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Will be communicating technical information to non-technical end users.
  • Ability to follow instruction and summarize technical information at a mid-level
  • Must have a high attention to detail
  • Must be a self-starter.
Desired Qualifications (nice to have)
  • Significant experience and knowledge of OS, Server, Storage, Network, DB, Middleware, and IT Security
  • Experience with systems integration and service oriented architecture models.
  • Experience ensuring systems and processes comply with PCI / PII and other industry regulatory standards
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management and Digital Loss Prevention technology solutions
  • ISO 27001
  • Process experience – Lean, ITIL, Six Sigma etc.
  • Experience in Financial Systems is highly desirable– Loan Origination, Underwriting, Funding or Servicing
  • Experience with ECM platforms like OnBase, SharePoint
  • Security architecture experience including capabilities like Identity and Access Management at enterprise levels
