Job Description:                Scope of Work:
The Consultant will work with MTA staff as an integrated part of a team, or teams, to ensure the rapid deployment of the selected systems, including signals, rolling stock, communications and other related infrastructure for New York City Transit ("NYCT"), Metro North Railroad ("MNR") and Long Island Rail Road ("LIRR"). Given the breadth of activities critical to the MTA's mission, many different areas of the Consultant's expertise may be utilized by the MTA in this capacity. The Consultant's services may be in any of the particular areas of expertise below:
- Project Management
- Management of Design-Build Contracts
- Transit Planning and/or Engineering
- Product Development
- General Assistance in Best Practices
- Executing Change in a Large Organization
The Consultant may also be required to evaluate current operational practices, develop new concepts, review and create management processes, develop documents for an existing, new or transitioned organization, propose project delivery structures, identify and analyze issues, and identify and mitigate risks related to the implementation of these systems and infrastructure.                                                                                     
Education Requirement:

The consultant is required to have expertise in the following areas.
- Project Management
- Construction Management
- Engineering Design
- Design-Build Contract Management
- Systems Integration
- Systems Commissioning
- Systems Engineering
- Signal Installation and Maintenance
- Communication Systems Installation and Maintenance
- Power System Installation and Maintenance
- Train Control System Installation and Maintenance

The Consultant is required to have twenty (20) or more years of prior experience in the following areas and fields of industry:
- Complex Rail Systems
- Mass Transit Systems
- Public Authorities
- Commuter Railroads
Hours: The Consultant is expected to be able to begin work immediately. Standard work hours will be determined by Project Manager, but are not expected to be outside of 8 AM to 6 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
